Dear Lord as I look in the mirror,
I don't always like what I see.
Sometimes it's an image of happiness,
Other times it's sadness looking back at me.
Oft' times the image is ugly,
And no beauty there can be found.
Sometimes troubles have turned my smile to a frown,
That image in the mirror has let me down.
The mirror never reflects the way
we truly are,
It only shows the outward appearance.
Not the many deep and hurtful scars,
That lay hidden deep within us.
Only you Lord, know what I really look like,
Whether I'm happy or if I am filled with sadness.
Now that my sins are covered by your blood,
My image is one of gladness.
Help me Lord when I look in the mirror,
To see more of you than of myself.
To see the beauty of your mercy and goodness,
And see your love reflecting in my mirrored image.

creature: old things are passed away; behold,
all things are become new
